This is a vintage Japanese tetsubin (iron tea pot). It is made of cast iron and is very small, only 5" in diameter to steep tea. The body features a biconvex body with even horizantal grooves and a round lid and matching rectangular finial. The lid itself is decorated in the same style. It is made of iron to hold the heat. The interior is lined with enamel and is used to brew tea using the included strainer. while this ketal should never be placed on direct heat, it still makes a lovely statement when brewing any kind of tea. This It measures about 5 x 5.25 x 5" including the handle and spout. We brought this pot straight from Japan and it remains in fine condition.
