Vintage Japanese Kokeshi Wooden Doll W/ Hand Painted Red Lotus Signed 3.5"

This is a vintage Japanese wooden doll known called a kokeshi. This kokeshi is exquisitely hand painted with stripes and what appears to be a red lotus. Her face and red hair decorations have been painted by a master of the craft. An exceptional example of miniature kokeshi painting.

Having been in storage for several decades, it remains in overall fine vintage condition and has a beautiful warm patina that shows the decades. There are some paint chipping and dents. She measures a mere 3 1/2" (9 cm) tall and 3/4" (2 cm) at the widest part.
