Vintage Japanese Lidded Kiri Wood Box W/ Calligraphy & Chop 5.5" Square

This is a lidded Japanese kiri wood box that had been formerly used to store perhaps some ceramic or decorative piece. The box has the makers chop mark on the lid in red as well as four letters in calligraphy. It is made of hand crafted cryptomeria wood box remains in fine condition.

The box measures 5 5/8" square by 2 3/8"tall (14 x 6 cm). The inside measures 4 7/8" square by about 2" of clearance (12.5 x 5cm).
