This Japanese cast iron chōshi is a traditional sake pouring kettle featuring a rounded body, upright swing handle, and a long rectangular pouring spout designed for controlled serving. Originally used to warm and serve sake, its elegant form reflects the refined simplicity of Japanese dining and tea traditions.
The kettle displays an attractive aged patina with wear consistent with age and use. The interior shows surface oxidation typical of antique cast iron vessels. Please review all photographs carefully, as they are considered part of the description. Measurements are shown in the listing photos.
A fine example of traditional Japanese ironware, well suited for collectors of sake vessels, Japanese antiques, or as a distinctive display piece celebrating classic Japanese craftsmanship.
