Vintage Japanese Shamisen Doukake Side Cover For Dou (Body) Orange W/ Leaves

This is a Japanese doukake which is placed on the side of the shamisen body. These are used to protect and add style to the instrument. Made of silk This doukake measures about 8 1/8" any 3 3/4" (20.5 x 9.5 cm). Having been used only infrequently and in storage for most of the last half century the fabric remains in very good condition. There are no stamps on the back, however, this one seems to be slightly smaller than others that are stamped with the size 五厘大 "gorindai".
