Vintage Japanese Showa Usubata Bronze Vase Buddhist Family Shrine

This is an antique Japanese mid Showa Era (c. 1940) bronze mini Usubata (flower vase). This vase was used in a butsudan (Buddhist family shrine) to offer flowers. It is made of a heavy bronze and has a thick raised design of birds on branches with flowers. This vase measures 4 1/2" wide at the fluted top to 3" at the base by 5 1/2" tall (11.5 x 7.5 x 14 cm). With exception to some signs of use with bumps and one cracked elephant head seen in pic 2 and all original deep patina, this bronze usubata remains in good condition. A beautiful way to display flowers.
