A shin hanga woodblock print by Bakufu Ohno (大野麦風, 1888-1976), published by Kyoto Hanga-in in 1951. The scene shows farmers transplanting rice seedlings by hand in a flooded paddy under falling rain, while an ox draws a harrow through an adjacent field and a cart loaded with water barrels waits along the bank.

Ohno relocated to the Kansai region after the 1923 earthquake and became known for landscapes, farm-labor scenes, and nature studies rendered in the soft, painterly palette characteristic of shin hanga. The fine rain lines and layered greens in this composition are typical of his more atmospheric rural genre work.
