Vintage Japanese Wooden Burgundy Lacquer Kashizara Appetizer Dish Plate

This is a late Show era (c. 1975) lacquer kashizara (appetizer plate) made of hand turned cryptomeria wood with over twenty layers of burgundy lacquer. The middle edging is highlighted in gold. Japanese lacquer is considered the finest in the world. It is durable enough to withstand the harshest treatment the centuries can throw at it.

Having been in storage for over 40 years, with exception to minor signs of use, this kashizara remains in very fine condition throughout and is in good polish. Measures 7 1/2" in diameter by 1" tall(19 x 2.5 cm).
